MAG beta doesn’t disappoint

Wednesday, November 25th, 2009

After getting a beta key from GamesRadar through their Twitter account, I immediately installed this 256-player fragfest. The graphics are pretty decent for the most part and the controls feel a little awkward after spending so much time playing Modern Warfare 2 but liked how it played.

MAG installing..

I shot some footage of my first time playing and put it online for you all to view in pretty HD. A more detailed report about my impressions later, as I need some more epic-scale battles to lay my final judgement on Zipper Interactive ’s latest videogame.

I wanted to show the general look ‘n’ feel of the game so there is footage from the menu screens, the score and weapon/equipment screens. If that kind of stuff isn’t your bag then go ahead and skip to about 7 minutes.

Digital Comics are coming to PSN..

Friday, November 20th, 2009

..if you’re lucky enough to live in one of the only 11 (!!) countries that are able to access the comics part of the PSN store. The countries that can start enjoying the comics right away are:

If you do live in one of these countries and you own a PSP, you can get a code to download a free comic, yes I said free, at the PSN Comics website. It’s Transformers: All Hail Megatron #1 which, even if you’re not a Transformers fan, you should definitely pick up. Did I mention it’s free?

When you’re one of the poor sobs not living in a wonderful country like Austria (G’day, mate) you can download the reader for the comics and the new PSP firmware 6.20 in the meantime. I’ll install it as soon as my PSP Go’s battery is finished charging..

Four-footed frenzy in videogames

The canine companions in games like Fable 2 or Dragon Age: Origins have surely made you smile whilst they were acting all cute and cuddly. There have been a lot of dogs showing up in RPG’s lately. My definition of lately may be the last 2 years, but still.

The amount of dogs in the same videogame genre caught my eye and made me do some research. As a doglover I’m very curious about the motivation of developers to include them in their triple A titles.

I’ve asked several developers about their motives and asked if they could point me towards the source of their inspiration so I can pinpoint where it all started. I just hope it’s not Nintendogs.
